An Ohio middle school teacher was accused of burning images of the cross on students arms with a scientific device and keeping a bible on the teacher's desk. The teacher was fired and he filed a lawsuit against the school district stating that his free speech and civil rights were violated. The teacher claims that he was defamation and said he was harassed because of his religion and suffered a hostile work environment. He also asked the jusdge to give his job back as a 8th grade teacher. The school district states that he was fire due to having an internal investigation on him which they found that he had preached Christian beliefs in class.
In the Constitution, the first amendment deals with the hole concept of freedom of religion and if its allowed in school. Over time, the decision of court cases has changed the rights of people and if they are allowed to display religion in school. The teacher are not allowed to talk about religion and what kind of religion is right to believe in. If they do, do this then they are violating the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment and the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment. According to this story, the teacher is violating these clause and i believe he is. Now its your opinion whether or not the teacher is violating these clauses.

I think that this teacher is definately in violation of these clauses. He does have a right to freedom of religion but not the right to exercise it in school. He also should be terminated from his job as a 8th grade teacher because he was teaching some students about religion which that 1st amendment says should not be done! I agee w/u 100percent and i think you did a great job on your blog:)
